About
My name is Megan Goff and I am a traditional 2D and stop motion animator. I create the cozy and the unsettling, the cute and the strange. Through vibrant choices of color, movement, and narrative my art leans into the different sides of myself from the part of me that loves the soft and gentle nature of all kinds of creatures and settings, to the part that is fascinated by the horrors, intensity and grossness of the world.
My process for finding the contrasting natures of the world takes me to the outdoors. I discover inspiration for my work through life drawing and on-site painting. Observing people and creatures interacting with their environment and capturing the personality behind movements in varying poses creates a lasting memory that I apply to my projects. Through painting I explore the world of color and exaggerate the hues and shapes of a setting.
While my preliminary work and studies for any project start in a traditional medium most of my work finds its final form in the digital space. I have experience working on collaborative short films as well as freelance graphic design work and commissioned paintings. I use Procreate for digital sketching, fine tuning character designs, poses and layouts and then I transition to Photoshop for further line work, color and rendering. I am proficient in these programs as well as Premier Pro for editing animations together and Dragonframe for stop motion work.
